Documentary for Leeds City Museum

Whether you love Leeds history, the ancient worlds or natural sciences, or you’re simply looking for a fun and free day out, there’s plenty to enjoy all year round.

The brief

Web Inspiration was successful in its tender to create a short documentary video for the Leeds Museum & Galleries which highlighted the remarkable contribution Sikh Soldiers made in World War 1.

How it was achieved

The project required indepth research. We collaborated with historians, members of the Sikh community and the curator of the museum to obtain facts and figures. Planning and timing were vital as the video was shot in several locations.

Combining the traditional interview-style with historical royalty free footage and live events the film came together in the edit. The quick-cuts, dramatic music and professional voice over communicates this important piece of history which has often been overlooked.

The video is being displayed at the Leeds City Museum in the Voices of Asia Exhibition.
